Oh! Nandalaala! In the feather of the crow we see the divine black color;
In the trees around, we the divine greenish color;
In the words heard, we see your divine song;
If we poke our hands on the fire, we see the feeling of your divine touch;

6. Saint Naamadev from Pandaripura Who uttered in ecstacy–
“ranga ranga namostute jaya ranganaatha namostute
Paanduranga namostute jaya padmanaabha namostute”

Kabir das used to praise naamadev often.

7. Saint Jnaaneswar from Maharashtrawho gave the beautiful gita Jnaaneswari which was called sarvajana ranjaka to the society
Who made the egoistic Brahmin pandits spellbound with surprise making them run away from the place by His grace by placing his hands on the head of the buffalo and asked the question to the buffalo which answered like this –

“janmanaa jaayate soodrah karmanaa jaayate dwijah
Vedo viprastu mukhyaanaam brahmajnaanam tu brahmanaam”

[by birth one is born as a soodra –
but by karmanushthaana he becomes a brahmana;
for the great Brahmins [who reside in brahman],
the main job is to study and preach veda andpreach the content in the veda to deserving disciples who come forward to know the supreme knowledge the Brahman.]

Daasee garbhasamudbhooto naaradasca mahaamunih
Tapasaa brahmanodbhootaha tasya jaatim na kalpayet
[narada was given birth to by a dasee only.
But by tapas, he became the son of brahma the creator;
one cannot say what caste he belonged to
-beyond caste because of knowing brahma vidya].

Urvasee garbhasambhooto vasishtasca mahaamunih
Tapasaa brahmanodbhootaha tasya jaatim na kalpayet

[the greage sage vasishtha who was born to urvasi became the brahma kumara;
one cannot say what is his caste
– he is beyond caste by knowing brahman]

Sunakee garbhasambhootah saunakasca mahaamunih
Tapasaa brahmanodbhootaha tasya jaatim na kalpayet”

[the great saint saunaka who was born the female dog,
became by tapas a brahma kumara who apprehended Brahman
- we cannot say what is his caste – beyond caste by knowing Brahman].

8. Sree Sankaraacaarya [aadi sankara] Who wrote several prakarana granthaas and bhaashyaasfor the Upanishads,Gita and Brahma Sutra andsaid in Sanskrit in his soundarya lahari thus –

“japo jalpah silpam sakalamapi mudraa viracanaa
Gati praadakshinya kramana masanaadhyaahuti vidhi
Pranaamah samvesah sukhamakhila maatpaarpanadrisaa
Saparyaa paryaayastava bhavatu yan me vilasitam”

[let my utterances become your japa, Oh! Mother;
Let my actions of the karmendriyaas become your mudras;
Let my walk become your pradakshina karma;Let my lying down poses become your pranaama;
Like this whatever actions of mine are there,let them become by your grace, the actions of yours].

Let me recall what amma used to say –
“Oh! Amma! Entre yethu vaakkum ninre vaakkai teeratte;
[all my words become your words]
Oh! Amma! Enre yethu icchayum ninre icchayaayi teeratte;
[all my thoughts become your thoughts]
Oh! Amma! Jnaan ceyyunna yethu karmavumnee ceyyunna karmamaayi teeratte;
[let my actions become your actions]
Oh! Amma! Njaan yevidekku kaal yeduthu vaccaalumathu ninnilekku yethunna paathayaai maaratte;
[all my walking steps lead me to your abode]
Oh! Amma! Jnaan yevide kidannaalumatu angaikkulla namaskaaramai teeratte;
[let my lying down anywhere become prostration to you]
Oh! Amma! Jnaan entu kazhicchaalumathu angaikkulla yajnamaaiteeratte;”
[whatever I consume as food by body and emotionsby mind and thoughts by intellect let it become jajna to you.]

“pradeepa jwaalaabhir divasakara neeraajanavidhim
Sudhaasoote cchandropala jalalavir arghyaracanaa
Swakeeyai rambhobhih salila nidhi souhitya karanam
Twakeeyaabhir vaaghbhir tava janani vaacaam stutiriyam”
[Oh! Mother goddess supreme! Who is the goddess of all words!
Like the lighting of a lamp from the light borrowed from the sun god- applying thereby the neeraajana to the sun god--
Like the applying of the neeraajana to the moon god
orrowed by the light from the moon falling on the stone
which gives the water-Like the tarpana being applied by the water from the ocean to the ocean itself ]
[Offer your own belonging to you in turn for your(because you are only inside and outside us)happiness-Oh! Goddess Supreme]

9. Sree Rama Bhakta Hanuman : he was able to cross the ocean to reach Sri Lanka simply by chanting the name ‘Rama’.He elaborates on his relation with Sri Rama thus:-

Deha-buddhyaa to daso’ham
[identified with the body, I am thy servant]
Jeeva buddhyaa tvad amsakah
[as an individuality, I am thy part]
Aatma budddhyaa twamevaaham
[but as the pure self, we are one]
Iti me niscitaa matih
[this is my firm conviction]
